Our Four Mandates

Four specific New Testament mandates establish the mission of Acts One Eight. The purpose of its eMinistry is to strategically accomplish these four core purposes ... to proclaim the Gospel ... to defend the faith ... to make disciples ... and to equip His people.

I. To proclaim the Gospel to the remotest part of the earth. The Gospel is presented in every eMinistry venue … with encouragement and opportunity to believe in Christ. Two sites will directly target those who need Christ … presenting the Gospel and answering questions. Exhortations to witness are incorporated in the teaching and devotional sites. In addition, training in evangelism is provided.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.” Acts 1:8

II. To defend the faith. Effective witnessing includes defending the faith ... answering questions ... and through our words, making the knowledge acceptable. God’s invitation to “Come now, and let us reason together”, Isaiah 1:18, should be extended through His followers to nonbelievers. In defending the faith, we must give honest answers to honest questions. Our goals are to do this and to equip others to do so.
“But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence.” 1 Peter 3:15

III. To make disciples of all the nations. Making disciples is central to the eMinistry ... training believers to follow Jesus as His disciples. Our teaching equips believers to become His disciples … to abide in His Word, to love one another in truth and deed, to bear the fruit of new believers, and to follow Him whatever the cost may be.
“And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’” Matthew 28:18-20

IV. To equip His people for the work of service. The eMinistry strategically equips His people for His ministry so that they walk worthy of the One who called them. The equipping is for more than application … it is also for multiplication. We seek to equip disciples to apply and multiply His Word … presenting them to God in an open hand for His choosing and His use.
“And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-13
